7 things you should know about ... Open Educational Resources

In the serie '7 things you should know about ...' van Educause is weer een nieuwe versie verschenen. Het onderwerp deze keer is Open Educational Resources (PDF). Een gode quote eruit is:

Open resources are one way to address the rising costs of education, and they also have the potential to facilitate new styles of teaching and learning. Giving faculty the ability to pick and choose the individual resources they want to use—and to modify those resources and “assemble” them in unique ways—promises greater diversity of learning environments.

Zeker interessant in dit kader is dat de Stichting Pro binnen niet al te lange tijd toegang zal krijgen dat de digitale leeromgeving van de universiteiten en hogescholen. Als docenten auteursrechtelijk materiaal hebben opgenomen in hun cursus en hiervoor geen afdracht betalen, kan dit de instelling een behoorlijke boete opleveren. Veel docenten zijn zich dit niet bewust.
