Vandaag kreeg ik het bericht dat de fusie tussen Blackboard en WebCT is goedgekeurd door het Amerikaanse ministerie van Justitie. De verwachting is dat de complete fusie nu in maart/april kan worden afgerond.

Tijdens het congres in Australië gingen er nogal wat gerichten rond dat de fusie niet door zou mogen gaan. Hier blijkt dus niks van waar. Gelukkig maar voor Blackboard, want ze hebben het al zwaar genoeg.

We are pleased to announce that we have been given clearance by the U.S. Department of Justice to complete the merger of Blackboard and WebCT. This step is an important milestone in our effort to complete the joining of our two companies, which we expect to be finalized in March or April.
